2018 CVSA Roadcheck: Be Prepared!

International Roadcheck 2018

Summer’s on its way, and we all know what that means… it’s Roadcheck time. Are you prepared?

June 5-7 the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance International Roadcheck will begin, homing in on our absolute favorite part of the job: hours-of-service (HOS) compliance. With the new ELD mandate changing essential parts of the job, the Roadcheck will ensure that everyone is in line with the policy (or is at least in the process of transitioning over from automatic onboard recording devices [AOBRDs]).

Make Roadcheck a Breeze

In order to be compliant, it’s essential to put TRIP-TRL numbers into your logs before inspection. Be sure to hit up the Waller Safety Department at (800) 821-2196 for some direction if you’re still experiencing difficulties with the technology. It’s our goal to make sure every one of our trucks passes Roadcheck, and we will make time to help you make it happen.

Before Roadcheck, be sure you know exactly how your log works. You should be able to state what data is recorded and what is displayed on the device, as well as provide your DOT Reference Card and a supply of blank record-of-duty status graphs.

The most likely HOS violations during Roadcheck week involve incorrect logs, so be sure to pay attention to detail! It takes close attention and a few minutes per day, but it’s essential to the job.

If you have any questions about this year’s inspection, or would like to ask about a driving position, give us a call at (800) 821-2196. We’d love to hear from you!
