A Family for Christmas
A Family for Christmas
Waller Truck office employees banded together to make Christmas as good as possible for a local Excelsior Springs family. The family consisted of a boy (12 yrs) and a girl (9 yrs) and their parents, who live together in a trailer with limited access to water and electricity.
We bought everything the family asked for and more! The family wish-list contained mostly essentials, which included pants, shirts, socks, and shoes. The few “wants” on the list were as simple as sketch books or fishing poles, so we went above and beyond to spoil these two kids.
Carolyn Waller Zeller added a special gift of her own to the girl’s list. She bought a teddy bear to go along with the shoes and clothes. She said, “Every little girl deserves a teddy.”
We also fulfilled a few desires that the mom had, such as a gift card for groceries and an electric skillet (presumably to replace a missing stove). Waller also supplied stockings and stocking stuffers, as well as wrapping paper and bows.
“Every little girl deserves a teddy.”

The fourteenth of December was a combined wrapping day and company lunch day, which brought us all together to have some fun and give back to the community all at the same time. After wrapping, we ended up with four boxes of gifts for the children.
